Breaking News: Pope Francis passes away at 88

Catholic Faithful’s around the world have been thrown into a state of mourning as Pope Francis passes on at 88. The Vatican confirming this tragic loss announced that the Pope took his last breath early Monday morning at his residence in Casa Santa Marta within Vatican City.

His death comes less than twenty-four hours after he appeared on Easter Sunday in St. Peter’s Square at the Vatican.

During the Easter celebration, he emerged in a wheelchair, he waved to the applauding masses from St. Peter’s Basilica’s balcony, saying, “Dear brothers and sisters, happy Easter.”

Following this, Camerlengo of the Apostolic Chamber, Cardinal Kevin Farrell, announced the death of Pope Francis from the Casa Santa Marta on Monday morning. According to Farrel, the Pope died at exactly 7.35am.

Recall that the religious  leader has been recuperating after being released from the Agostino Gemelli Polyclinic Hospital.

Announcing the death of the Pope, Cardinal Farrel read, “Dearest brothers and sisters, with deep sorrow, I must announce the death of our Holy Father Francis.

“At 7:35 this morning, the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the house of the Father.

“His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and of His Church. He taught us to live the values of the Gospel with fidelity, courage, and universal love, especially in favour of the poorest and most marginalised.
