Nigerian Afrobeat star Davido has finally addressed the incident after a video of him being struck on the head sparked widespread outrage online.
The event, which took place following his performance at a wedding in Warri, Delta State, was perceived by fans as an attack.
Following his show, Davido reportedly made a stop at a popular nightclub in Warri.
The trending video captured the singer leaving the night club when he was slapped in the head by a man from the crowd.
However reacting to the controversy, Davido in a post on X, clarified that it was his security personnel that mistakenly hit his head while trying to protect him from an overzealous fan.
While dismissing fears of an attack, the singer wrote “That was my security. Hit me by mistake.”
