Shettima Issues Warning to Opposition, Says Running Against Tinubu in 2027 Useless

Vice-President Kashim Shettima has issued warning to opposition, insisting that President Bola Tinubu’s scorecard is enough to secure him re-election in 2027.

The vice president stated that social media does not win elections while speaking at the All Progressives Congress (APC) national executive council (NEC) meeting on Friday at the State House conference centre in Abuja.

He pointed out that anyone running against Tinubu in 2027 is merely preparing to lose because the president is superior to other candidates due to his background and track record of leadership.

“Elections are not won by noise or nostalgia,” he said.

“Elections are not conducted on Facebook or Twitter. They are won by coalitions, credibility and conviction.

“With the experience of our president as our shield and the lessons of the past as our guide, I believe that 2027 is not a gamble; it is a responsibility.

“And by the fear of God, we shall have a renewable blessing.”

He however pointed out that Nigeria is a democratic country where anyone can run for office.
