The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced a 50% reduction in train fares for Lagos residents.

The one-day discount will be available on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
Sanwo-Olu made the announcement on Wednesday via a statement shared on his official X account.
He said the discount is to mark Lagos Rail Mass Transit Blue Line two years anniversary.
According to him, the two years of the rail service have transported five million passengers without a single accident.
“To mark this second anniversary, I am pleased to announce a 50% reduction in fares on the Blue Line for tomorrow, Thursday, September 4, 2025. If you have not yet experienced the Blue Line, I encourage you to take a ride and see what we have built together.”
Recall that the Lagos Blue Line train service started on September 4, 2023.
