He made the remark in a statement shared on his verified X account.
Shehu Sani’s comment comes in the wake of U.S. President Donald Trump’s invitation to Nigeria’s First Lady, Remi Tinubu, to attend the 74th Annual National Prayer Breakfast at Capitol Hill.
Speaking at the event, Trump acknowledged Mrs Tinubu as a very respected woman.

“We are honoured to be joined today by the First Lady of Nigeria, who also happens to serve as a Christian pastor at one of the largest churches. A very respected woman,” Trump had said.
Reacting, the former lawmaker wrote: “The First Lady has gotten public recognition and respect from President Trump.
“A hardened stance on the country is now softening, courtesy of adept diplomatic engagement. We hope for the best.”
