During the visit, Shettima reassured the affected communities of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to restoring peace and stability, noting that firm security measures had already been put in place.

He disclosed that a battalion of the Nigerian Army had been deployed to Kaiama as part of sustained efforts to tackle insecurity in the area.

According to the Vice President, the delegation was in the state on the directive of President Tinubu to commiserate with the people of Kaiama and Kwara State over what he described as the shocking February 3, 2026 attack on the Woro and Nuku communities.

Shettima also revealed that the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) had been instructed to collaborate with the Kwara State Emergency Management Agency to provide relief materials and necessary support to the affected residents.

“Please accept our heartfelt condolences on behalf of President Tinubu. A battalion of the Nigerian Army has been deployed, and all hands are on deck to restore peace and tranquillity,” the Vice President assured.
