Al Nassr is reportedly in advanced negotiations to sign a Manchester United star under Cristiano Ronaldo’s leadership.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s team, Al Nassr, is reportedly nearing an agreement to sign Manchester United midfielder Casemiro, according to Sportskeeda. According to reports, formal talks between the two sides will take place during the upcoming summer transfer window.
According to sources from Sport Jazirah and UTD Report, the Saudi Pro League’s top teams are actively trying to sign the Brazilian star, who is apparently eager to leave Old Trafford.

Despite making a significant impact in Manchester United’s debut season after costing £70 million to join from Real Madrid in 2022, Casemiro’s significance has decreased as a result of subpar play and injury concerns. Casemiro is reportedly not included in Manchester United’s long-term strategy to reassemble their team under new manager Ruben Amorim.
The club views the 33-year-old’s interest from Al Nassr as an opportunity to reduce payroll expenditures at the ideal moment.
The five-time UEFA Champions League winner had a difficult season in 2024–25 as United lost to Tottenham in the Europa League final and ended a miserable fifteenth in the Premier League.
In light of Casemiro’s physical decline, Manchester United has prioritized youth and energy in the midfield despite his stellar reputation and leadership abilities. Meanwhile, Al Nassr is looking to strengthen its team after finishing third in the Saudi Pro League, thirteen points behind winners Al Ittihad.

Along with fellow veteran Cristiano Ronaldo, the club sees Casemiro as a valuable addition to their midfield, who will provide experience and skill as they get ready for a big push next season. This decision is consistent with public remarks made by Jamie Carragher, a former Liverpool defender who expressed in 2024 that he would consider moving to Saudi Arabia or Major League Soccer.
Despite Casemiro’s initial denial, Carragher’s evaluation is becoming more and more justified in light of the impending transfer. Also, the Portuguese legend is anticipated to remain at Al Nassr as the club is in discussions to extend Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract.

With the addition of Casemiro, a former Real Madrid teammate, they could take their pursuit of domestic and continental domination to the next level.
If the transaction goes through, the Saudi Pro League will have signed yet another A-list player, continuing its trend of luring elite athletes looking for opportunities outside of Europe.
