Eguavoen Selects Assistants for 2025 AFCON Qualifier.
Super Eagles caretaker coach, Augustine Eguavoen, has selected his assistant coaches from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) in preparation for the 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Benin and Rwanda. Eguavoen has appointed Fidelis Ilechukwu, who recently led Enugu Rangers to an NPFL championship victory, and Daniel Ogumodede, who has successfully guided Remo Stars to continental football in the last two seasons.
These appointments come after negotiations between the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and German manager Bruno Labbadia fell through due to tax-related complications. As a result, the NFF turned to the experienced Eguavoen to manage the Super Eagles on an interim basis for the upcoming international fixtures.
