The recent rift between Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman and his manager, Gian Piero Gasperini, after Lookman missed a crucial penalty in the Champions League match against Club Brugge, is set for a peace talk set up by the Club’s owners.
Gasperini openly criticized Lookman in the media after he missed the penalty against Club Brugge. This prompted a follow up response from the Super Eagles forward that clearly explained his decision to take the penalty as well as the disappointment in the coach’s words.
The club owners are looking to intervene in the rift between player and coach at the team’s training today.

However, this doesn’t take away the club’s elimination from the Champions League in the knockout playoffs. As Atalanta lost 2-1 to Brugge in Belgium, only to return back to Italy and still be losing at halftime by 3-0.
Lookman came in the second half and scored within 36 seconds before missing the crucial penalty that would have given the Italian side a boost of qualifying.
Atalanta’s coach, Gasperini, couldn’t hold back after the match and openly criticized Lookman, calling him the “worst taker he’s ever seen.”
Ademola Lookman didn’t take it lightly, as his response hit back at Gasperini as “disrespectful” and “hurtful.”
Atalanta’s club owners, President Antonio Percassi and his son, CEO Luca Percassi, will be at the club’s training facility in Zingonia today for talks between the two.
Former Juventus and Italian Legendary forward, Alessandro Del Piero, has made his stand with Lookman. He said he would act the same if his own coach left him out to dry like that.
Although rumors are already suggesting that Lookman may be on his way out of the club by summer to a club that will treat him better.
