Premier League side and reigning champions, Manchester City, were victorious in their away match at Leicester City’s King Power Stadium. The match was the first to be played in Sunday’s English Premier League.

Manchester City took the lead in the first half through Savio to make it 1-0. Little action or highlights were seen in the first half, with the away side leading by halftime.

Coming through in the second half saw a whole total game as Leicester City were much in control of possession and getting their passes to meet their intended target.

Haaland increased the lead to 0-2 for the visitors in the 74th minute, and Manchester City were heading out of the match as victors.

There was nothing much the Van Nistelrooy side could do afterwards despite making five changes and trying to get one in for Leicester City.

This will be Leicester’s 4th straight loss in 5 games, and somehow it looks like a step to redemption for Pep Guardiola’s side, who have been on a terrible run of form, losing 8 games in 11 matches.

Manchester City move up to 5th position on the table with 31 points from 19 games, and Leicester maintain relegation in 18th position with 14 points from 19 games.

However, Leicester City fans are hopeful the ex-Dutch striker will take them out of relegation into the top half of the table come the second half of the season in 2025.

The referee for the match was Michael Oliver.
