The Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF) President, Daniel Igali, expressed his jubilation over Adekuoroye’s feat, acknowledging limitations in her recent competition schedule. He highlighted their recent success at the African Championships in Alexandria, where the team secured an impressive 9 gold medals, 1 silver, and 2 bronze. Notably, the female team brought home 9 out of 10 gold medals in their category.
Looking ahead, the NWF is already gearing up for the crucial 2024 Oceania/Africa Olympic qualifiers, starting March 22nd. Their goal? To secure five or six coveted slots for the upcoming Olympic Games. With Adekuoroye leading the charge and the entire team in high spirits, Nigeria’s wrestling future is looking bright!
