The Super Eagles of Nigeria beat the Amavubi of Rwanda in a comfortable 2-0 victory.
In what looked like a comfortable victory for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, they beat the Amavubi of Rwanda in a 0-2 away victory.
Two goals from Galatasaray hitman Victor James Osimhen in the 11th minute and 45th minute of the first half saw Nigeria scale through the hurdles of Kigali.
Victor Osimhen scored a deftly executed finish from the near post after a cross from Ademola Lookman which beat the Rwandan goalkeeper in the 11th minute.

In the 45th minute, Osimhen pounced on an error from a Rwandan defender before lifting the ball over the keeper in a cool strike.
This victory marks a positive start for Eric Chelle, the new Super Eagles coach. He now faces the next challenge in the Zimbabwe men’s team on March 25 at Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
Nigerian midfielders Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi both picked up yellow cards in the second half; however, this doesn’t affect their availability for the next match against Zimbabwe.
Nigeria move up to 6 points in Group C with this victory over Rwanda.

Tolu Arokodare also made his debut for Nigeria and unfortunately picked up a yellow card in the late minutes. Not much was seen of him as he substituted Victor Osimhen in the 77th minute.
This win marks Nigeria’s first win in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, having played 3 draws and lost one match to Benin.
