Erik ten Hag dismissed the notion that his team would be apprehensive about facing Manchester City this weekend, despite the City’s recent dominance. While City has been formidable, winning 14 of their last 15 games across various competitions, United has also shown promise, albeit plagued by injuries.
Ten Hag, when asked about the potential intimidation factor, disagreed. “They have a good team, but there are many other good teams,” the Dutchman asserted. “We recognize their achievements from last season, but we relish the challenge. Liverpool, for instance, is also formidable. We embrace the challenge and eagerly anticipate competing against them.”
Regarding Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s remarks about wanting to rival City and Liverpool’s success, Ten Hag remained unfazed. “Our focus is on winning every game,” he clarified. “Regardless of the opponent, our mentality remains the same. However, we always aspire to face top-notch opponents. While typically, teams perform exceptionally against Manchester United, we acknowledge the need for a collective effort and top performance to achieve the desired outcome.”
