The New PDP Chairman, Tanimu Turaki, has called on President Trump to come and save democracy in Nigeria
Following the recent factional crisis being faced by the former ruling party of Nigeria, Tanimu Turaki, the new Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman, has urged Donald Trump, the United States President, to act on his words by coming not only to save the Christians but also to save democracy in Nigeria.

Turaki said this in an interview while talking about the ongoing crisis in the PDP after the police took over the party’s headquarters in Abuja.
This followed the clash between the factions loyal to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, and that of Governor Seyi Makinde.
The PDP chairman said that it is not only the genocide of the Nigerian Christians that should be addressed in Nigeria, but also the democracy currently being practiced in the country.

Furthermore, Turaki accused the FCT minister of creating chaos at the PDP Secretariat with armed thugs and police to stop other factions.
While granting the interview, Turaki called on the international community to come to the rescue of Nigeria, claiming that democracy is under threat in the country.
He also vowed that he and his faction will lay down their lives to rescue democracy in the country if it comes to that.

He said, “I have said it before, we are willing to lay down our lives to protect our office, to protect our democracy, and to protect our mandate.”
