In response to a 2023 Oracle survey revealing dissatisfaction with current data and analytics approaches, Sigma CEO Mike Palmer highlighted the company’s focus on providing accessible data analytics tools. Initially offering basic business intelligence tools, Sigma has evolved to enable users to analyze data directly within databases, build dashboards, reports, workflows, and apps without data leaving its source.

Sigma’s go-to-market strategy has proved successful, with 100% year-over-year revenue growth for four consecutive years and a customer base of approximately 1,000 companies. In May 2024, Sigma closed a $200 million Series D funding round, bringing its valuation to $1.5 billion. The company plans to expand its operations in the U.S. and internationally, invest in AI integrations, and capitalize on the growing business intelligence market, projected to reach $54.9 billion by 2023.
