ChatGPT web search without a login is now available
OpenAI’s decision to keep ChatGPT web search open to all without login could render the AI chatbot an attractive alternative to traditional search engines like Google.
Users can once again ask questions through ChatGPT without logging in.
Answers, however, were limited to being based on data available till the last training of the AI.
Then in October, OpenAI instead launched ChatGPT Search as an apparent competitor to Google, letting real-time queries about sports scores, news, or weather that was previously the realm of paid subscribers to ChatGPT.
Later, in December, it was made available to everyone, but still required login, which has now been lifted.
This only applies through ChatGPT.com. Any use of ChatGPT through the native mobile app will still require login.
