The strike notification was included in a statement released on Wednesday by TIB’s Lagos State Coordinator, Adekunle Adeyemi Taofeek.

According to the statement, the protest will begin at 7 a.m. at the Lagos State House of Assembly.

The nationwide protest is anticipated to include workers, students, traders, and unemployed people.

The organisations declared that the demonstration will be a “united call against crippling poverty, exploitative fuel tax, and oppressive tax reforms,” which they claimed have made millions of Nigerians’ lives worse.

“In recent months, millions of Nigerians have been pushed deeper into poverty as the cost of living skyrockets beyond survival limits.

“The regime’s so-called ‘tax reform’ has only worsened economic hardship, targeting the poor while protecting the rich,” the statement read.
