During his 54th birthday celebration in April, Tompolo was seen dancing while a man sprayed him with 1,000 naira notes, according to a widely shared video. The video received a lot of backlash and redoubled calls for the EFCC to look into the situation.

The agency responded to the public demand by stating that the Niger Delta leader would be asked questions on the widely shared video.

In a social media post on Monday, the EFCC stated “Nobody is above the law. Tompolo will have questions to answer!”
