There was confusion in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State on Friday after the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the council, Oyewole Mayowa Solomon, reportedly collapsed and died during a party reconciliation meeting.
According to a report by TVC, the incident occurred while Solomon was attending a meeting convened by a former APC chairman in the area, Funsho Olumoko, to promote unity among party stakeholders.
Solomon was said to have suddenly collapsed while the meeting was underway, causing panic among those in attendance.
He was reportedly rushed to a hospital in Kabba for urgent medical attention but was confirmed dead shortly after arriving.
As of the time of filing the report, the exact circumstances surrounding Solomon’s sudden death had not been officially disclosed.

According to reports, the reconciliation meeting was organised by former APC chairman in the area, Funsho Olumoko, as part of efforts to bring party stakeholders together.
Oyewole Mayowa Solomon, the APC chairman in Ijumu, was participating in the meeting when he reportedly collapsed unexpectedly.
He was immediately taken to a hospital in Kabba for medical attention but reportedly died shortly after his arrival.
The sudden incident reportedly shocked other party members at the meeting, while the circumstances surrounding his death remained unclear at the time of the report.
Authorities had yet to officially disclose the cause of death.
