The son of Oshoffa criticizes pastors and others who speak out against polygamy, stating that according to the Bible, no prophet married only one wife.
Olatosho Oshoffa, the son of Bilewu Oshoffa, the founder of the Celestial Church of Christ, Worldwide, has criticized those who preach against polygamy within the church, asserting that no prophet in the Bible had only one wife.
Speaking to defend his father’s legacy, Olatosho emphasized that his father, who left behind 13 wives and 53 children, was chosen by God despite having multiple wives. He argued that if God judged based on the number of wives before selecting a leader, his father would have been disqualified.
Regarding how his father managed his large family, Olatosho revealed that his father instilled a sense of unity among the children, emphasizing that they were all considered children of Oshoffa rather than identifying with specific mothers. This approach fostered a strong familial bond among them.
Commenting on the leadership crisis within the Celestial Church
Commenting on the leadership crisis within the Celestial Church, Olatosho likened it to the challenges faced by early apostles and the Catholic Church regarding succession. He declared his eldest brother, Rev. Emmanuel Oshoffa, as the recognized leader of the church, expressing optimism that the ongoing issues would eventually be resolved.
Despite the controversies surrounding polygamy and leadership disputes, Olatosho Oshoffa emphasized the enduring unity within the family and the church, anchored on the principles instilled by his father.
