United States Congressman Riley M. Moore has stated that Nigeria must meet two key conditions for any military cooperation with the United States can be considered to help tackle the country’s insecurity crisis.
Moore made this known during an interview with an American news channel while discussing violence and unrest in Nigeria.
According to previous reports, Jackson was given the death penalty for allegedly shooting a herdsman who had invaded his farm land.

During the interview, the US Republican lawmaker insisted that the young man must be released before the Unites States would consider partnering with Nigeria to tackle the decade-long security crisis.
He further added that the second condition is for the Nigerian government to come up with a clear and workable plan to disarm armed Fulani herdsmen terrorists, especially in the Middle Belt region where many violent attacks have been reported.
He stated emphatically that the United States would only consider about collaborating closely with Nigeria’s military if significant efforts were made to curb armed groups and lessen instability in the impacted areas.

He said, “It sounds like they are open to partner with the United States to stop these killings. They met with myself and the administration as well.
“We made some progress in getting them to place to partner with us to stop these killings but there is a lot of things they need to do and I think one of the first steps is releasing Sunday Jackson.
“Another one of coming up working with us with a plan to disarm the radical Fulani militants in the Middle Belt of the country.”

This development comes as Nigeria continues to battle kidnappings, attacks on farms, school abductions and rising insecurity across several regions, especially in the Middle Belt and northern parts of the country.
