Popular Nigerian stand-up comedian, Bovi Ugboma, has revealed that he sees divorce as something worth celebrating in certain situations.
Speaking during a recent episode of The Moraya Show, Bovi explained that he supports divorce when a marriage becomes unbearable for one or both partners.
According to him, the end of such unions can serve as a form of relief for those involved.
The comedian stated that he would rather see couples separate than remain trapped in toxic marriages.
“I celebrate when people get divorced because it shows that one or both partners were unhappy or struggling in the marriage. I would never want to suffer anyone, and I wouldn’t want anyone to suffer because of me either,” he said.
Bovi, however, noted that marriage itself is not always easy, adding that his own marriage of 17 years has had its challenges.
He explained that he got married at the age of 29 and has consistently carried the responsibility of providing for his family since then.
