Residents of Abuja are to expect moderate traffic clusters and possible road blocks across certain areas of the city as President Tinubu begins commissioning of major road projects today.
Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, yesterday, said President Bola Tinubu would begin a multi-day commissioning of major infrastructure projects across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), today, June 9.
Speaking directly to reporters during a comprehensive site verification tour, he announced that the President will launch the infrastructure program by officially opening stage two of the Outer Southern Motorway (OSEX) main carriageways.
Wike also highlighted that contractors have already achieved 100% completion on this vital section of the highway.

The Minister explained that the commissioning program serves as a cornerstone event celebrating President Tinubu’s third year in office.
Following the initial launches, the itinerary shifts tomorrow, June 10, to the official opening of Arterial Road N5 in Life Camp. Finally, the celebratory tour will conclude on Thursday with the unveiling of the newly dualized Highway 105 along the Airport–Kuje carriageway.
He also said the president would visit satellite towns to inaugurate projects in the FCT’s Area Councils, a move the minister described as evidence of the administration’s effort to extend development to rural communities. He declined to list specific targets for those visits, saying the details remain confidential.
