President Bola Tinubu has approved the renewal of Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa’s appointment as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC).

Yelwa’s reappointment is for a second and final four-year term.
The announcement was made in a statement by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
Imohiosen said the appointment is in line with Section 93 of the Electricity Act 2023.
Tinubu urged Yelwa to build on the commission’s achievements and introduce greater innovation and commitment in delivering its mandate.
