2027 Race Heats Up as Sowore Launches ‘SoworeNow App’ To Mobilize Supporters

Omoyele Sowore, a human rights activist and presidential candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC), has launched a new mobile application called ‘SoworeNow app’ to establish a digital platform for political mobilization, volunteer coordination, fundraising, and direct engagement with supporters ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.

According to an analysis by SaharaReporters, the application, currently at version 1.0.1, is designed as an all-inclusive platform where supporters can register, get campaign updates, volunteer for events, make donations, and access campaign information directly from their mobile devices.

The SoworeNow app, available for both Android and iOS users, uses a modern React Native architecture that enables cross-platform functionality while supporting future platform growth.

According to SaharaReporters’ findings, the app includes several key features aimed at boosting grassroots political organizing through digital technology.

Its main features include user registration and login, a dedicated news section for campaign updates, volunteer management tools, event coordination, donation options, and a user profile dashboard.

In addition, the Sowore app has barcode scanning capabilities, which might be useful for event check-ins, volunteer verification, or campaign logistics.

The app also includes a volunteer points and rewards system, meaning supporters can gain recognition for participating in campaign activities.

The platform features a digital wallet design and donation processing technology, underscoring its role as a fundraising tool for campaign operations.

It also supports push notifications, enabling users to get real-time updates on campaign activities, announcements, and events.

Introducing the app, Sowore said, “Fellow Nigerians, real change begins with action, and action begins with you; that is why we launched the ‘SoworeNow’ app.

“It is just one app where you can get verified campaign updates, join the rallies, connect with other supporters, and support the movement.”

Backstory…

The launch of the SoworeNow App marks the latest step in Omoyele Sowore’s grassroots mobilisation strategy ahead of the 2027 general election.

The former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) has consistently positioned himself as an anti-establishment politician, relying heavily on digital platforms, youth engagement and volunteer-driven campaigns rather than the traditional political structures dominated by Nigeria’s major parties.

Since his first presidential bid in 2019, Sowore has advocated for what he describes as a “people-powered” movement aimed at challenging the country’s political elite and expanding citizen participation in governance.
