Folake Ani-Mumuney, the Global Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at FirstBank Ltd., has resigned following the tense situation between her and the Chairman regarding the lavish sendoff party for former Managing Director Adesola Adeduntan.
Mr. Otedola, the Chairman of First Bank, was not happy with the sendoff party organized for Adesola Adeduntan; he described the party as “insensitive and wasteful.”
Ani-Mumuney has been instrumental in FirstBank’s marketing and communication strategies, especially on social media. However, her resignation has caused internal instability among the shareholders and senior management.
NaijaEyes gathered that some key stakeholders were unhappy with the resignation and felt Otedola could have done better with Ani-Mumuney.
Although close source reports suggest that Otedola plans to use a stricter approach to the leadership of FirstBank and how expenses are being made.
