Tension in Osun! Adeleke Imposes New Curfew
The Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke, has slammed a further curfew on two local governments in the state because of renewed clashes between the said communities.

This was contained in a statement released on Friday by Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, the State Commissioner of Information and Public Enlightenment.
According to the statement, “the curfew will take effect immediately and will last from 6 PM to 6 AM daily until peace remains.”
Naijaeyes had earlier reported the number of people feared dead while many others were displaced following another renewal of crisis between the belligerent towns of Ilobu and Ifon.
“The Governor has expressed unhappiness and dissatisfaction with the breakout of fresh communal crises in Ilobu and Ifon.
“That the curfew will now be extended from the initial 10 PM to 4 AM to 6 PM to 6 AM effective today March 21st, 2025 until further notice.

“Mr. Governor has equally directed that the joint security team comprising the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Police and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps should continue to maintain their usual 24-hour surveillance to ensure zero-tolerance for any act of lawlessness.”
The Governor has also directed for the immediate meeting of all stakeholders, including the Olufon of Ifon, HRM Oba Peter Oluwole Akinyooye, HRM Oba Ashiru Olatoye Olaniyan, the Olobu of Ilobu, among others with stakeholders from both communities, to deliberate further on resolution of the conflict on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025.
Lastly, His Excellency is appealing to all sons and daughters of the two communities, as well as their traditional rulers, to tread the path of peace and harmonious co-existence.
Those found within this community to be aiding and abetting the ongoing carnage will be dealt with accordingly.
