Tmilehin Faith Opesusi, 19, committed suicide after receiving a low score of 190 on the Joint Admission Matriculation Board(JAMB) and Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), escalating the debate surrounding the test to a new level.
Neighbours described Opesusi, who is reportedly from Abeokuta but lives with her older sibling in Odogunyan, Ikorodu, Lagos State, as “gentle and humble.”

According to the Guardian, Opesusi consumed rat poison on Monday.
Before consuming the poison, she lamented her bad performance, according to one of her close associates who spoke to media.
When Opesusi requested palm oil at her sister’s workplace to ease the ache from something she had consumed at home, the neighbours grew concerned. Following this, her sister raised alarm, drawing sympathizers to the scene after realizing how serious the situation was.
Opesusi allegedly admitted to ingesting poison while travelling to the hospital before heading to her sister’s workplace. She tragically died in Odogunyan, Ikorodu’s Kolak Hospital.
It was observed that only half an hour after her passing, she received a notification of her temporary admission through her Gmail account.
Since then, her parents have taken her to Abeokuta for her funeral.
This is coming after JAMB on Wednesday admitted to errors on the UTME results, and announcing that over thirty eight thousand candidates across over a hundred centres will retake the exams.
Meanwhile, JAMB has also stated on Thursday that the candidates expected to retake the UTME will begin from today.
