FCT minister, Wike to relocate Apo mechanics soon
Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, on Friday pledged to build vital infrastructure in Wassa District of the FCT to fast track the relocation of Apo Mechanic dealers and traders.
Wike disclosed this during the formation of a committee to help move the traders and dealers to Wassa District, their permanent location.

The FCT minister stated that he would serve as the committee’s while additional members include the Director of Resettlement and Compensation and the Director of Survey.
Wike further pointed out that multiple governments had made unfulfilled promises to move the traders and dealers who were occupying a portion of the Outer Southern Motorway corridor to their permanent location in Wassa.
The FCT minister noted that the administration of President Bola Tinubu has started the procedures to meet its pledge to transfer the traders and dealers.

“It’s been promise on promise since 2011 without fulfilment, but Tinubu has promised, and the process has begun.
“As part of the process, on June 27, together with the leaders of Apo Mechanics, we will all visit Wassa, to see the permanent site for the relocation.
“This will enable us to decide on the needed critical infrastructure to be put in place to facilitate your relocation.
“This collective effort is to ensure that Tinubu’s promise is fulfilled,” he said.
The Minister stressed that they would accomplish more if they cooperated and cautioned the dealers and traders against fighting among themselves.
He stated that the FCT Administration would make every effort to ensure the satisfaction of Apo traders and dealers, adding that one of the government’s objective was to make people happy.
