MultiChoice Nigeria has announced that it has slashed the cost of its DStv decoder from ₦20,000 to ₦10,000, a 50% reduction.
The corporation declared that the action was taken in an effort to increase client base and stop subscriptions from dropping.
John Ugbe, the company’s CEO, said in a statement issued on Tuesday that the offer was a means of rewarding loyal customers and providing members with more value.

“We want to ensure our customers feel appreciated and have access to the best entertainment every day. The ‘We Got You’ campaign is about making premium content more accessible and showing that DStv offers something for everyone, not just football fans.
“By repositioning itself as a platform for daily value, DStv aims to encourage content discovery across a wider array of genres, including movies, drama, kids’ programming, and news.
“This means more channels, more shows, and more reasons to tune in every day,” the statement added.
Additionally, the business revealed a deal that will allow customers to switch to the next DStv package tier for free when they pay for their existing plan in full between June 16 and July 31, 2025.
The price reduction was maintained by Multichoice, and the free upgrade program was launched in response “to the noticeable economic impact on the everyday lives of Nigerians.”
This follows after it lost 1.4 million subscribers between March 2023 and March 2025, which led to this.
Recall that MultiChoice Nigeria raised the pricing of its DStv and GOtv bundles three times in a 12-month period? The first rise was announced in April 2023, the second in November 2023, and the third in April 2024, which went into effect on May 1.
