At around 5:27 p.m., President Tinubu arrived at the location, where most dignitaries and cabinet officials had already taken their seats, according to reports.

The gathering on Thursday, the first of its like since Tinubu assumed office in 2023, followed a fidau (third-day prayer) observance in the late leader’s hometown and state funeral ceremonies for Buhari in Daura earlier in the week.

Tinubu had previously planned to host the cabinet tribute on Tuesday, but postponed it to allow himself and other top political figures to attend the burial.
