YOWICAN described it as unfortunate that the issue of Christian genocide does not seem to affect Bwala and his family.

Bako Adashu Elijah, YOWICAN’s National Secretary, made the remarks during his address at the association’s convention in Jalingo, Taraba State, over the weekend.

This comes as Bwala consistently insists that the Christian genocide claim in Nigeria is misleading.

However, Elijah reiterated that the killing of Christians is real in Nigeria, especially in the North-east.

He said the recent “wake-up call” made by President Donald Trump of the United States on the alleged killing of Christians in Nigeria has once again drawn global attention to the ongoing challenges facing the country.

“Our position as YOWICAN remains unchanged: there has been, and there continues to be, an ongoing genocide in parts of Nigeria.

“Any attempt to downplay or distort this truth is a product of media misrepresentation.

“Our Response to Mr Daniel Bwala. We respectfully address the reaction of our elder brother and father, Mr Daniel Bwala, to our earlier call to the President of Nigeria. Fortunately, Mr Bwala is from the North-east—Borno State. If the menace of Christian genocide does not affect his people or his family simply because he is currently in the comfort of government, then that is indeed unfortunate.

He reiterated that call for the replacement of Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, over reoccurring incidents of insecurity.

“Our appeal for the replacement of the National Security Adviser, Mr Nuhu Ribadu, is rooted in the urgent need for effective, responsive, and competent leadership in national security.

“Therefore, we reaffirm our call today: “Mr President, please replace the National Security Adviser.”
