The Zamfara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced that two members of the State House of Assembly have defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the PDP.

The defecting lawmakers are Hon. Sulaiman Hassan Bosko of the Mafara I Constituency and Hon. Nura Dahiru of the Birnin Magaji Constituency. Their defection was confirmed in a statement issued by the PDP’s publicity secretary, Halliru Andi.
The party said the lawmakers’ decision reflects the depth of internal crises and leadership issues currently troubling the APC in Zamfara.
The statement said the lawmakers chose the PDP because they wanted stability, progress, and better leadership.
The PDP also said the lawmakers were motivated by the leadership style of Governor Dauda Lawal, praising his work on security, infrastructure, transparency, and overall governance.

The party welcomed both lawmakers, saying their decision strengthens the PDP and boosts public confidence in its ability to deliver good governance in the state.
“The PDP Zamfara State Chapter warmly welcomes the two honourable legislators into the party. Their coming further strengthens our movement and reinforces the confidence of the people in the PDP as the only party capable of delivering genuine development and good governance.”
“We assure them of full integration and cooperation as we continue working together for a safer, stronger, and more prosperous Zamfara State.”
