The Presidency, Daniel Bwala has revealed that recent United States airstrikes in Sokoto State were aimed at members of the ISIS and Lakurawa terrorist groups.

Daniel, a spokesman for President Bola Tinubu, explained that the Islamic State fighters entered Nigeria through the Sahel to collaborate with the Lakurawa group and bandit gangs.
Speaking to AFP on Saturday, he said the militants were providing supplies and training, adding that the operation specifically targeted ISIS elements, Lakurawa fighters and bandits operating in the area.

The US carried out attacks on terrorist enclaves in Sokoto State on Christmas Day.
Confirming the attack, the Nigerian government said it was a coordinated operation with the US.
