Zubby Michael Under Fire for Wearing Red T-Shirt to Jr Pope’s Funeral.
An aide to the Delta State governor, Ossai Ovie Success, has criticized actor Zubby Michael for wearing a red t-shirt to the funeral of his late colleague Jnr Pope in Enugu on May 17.
In a post on his X handle, Ovie called the attire “disrespectful” and “inappropriate,” arguing that black or white would have been more fitting given Jnr Pope’s untimely death.
“This is disrespectful to late Jnr Pope. Dear Zubby Michael, this your red dressing is inappropriate… The burial ceremony calls for a sober reflection and not a celebration party ground,” Ovie wrote.
He expressed disappointment but acknowledged his admiration for Zubby Michael’s work, hoping for better choices in the future.
Ovie wrote:
“This is disrespectful to late Jnr Pope.
Dear Zubby Michael, this your red dressing is inappropriate.
This your red t-shirt dressing to the burial ceremony of late Jnr Pope is annoying and disrespectful to Jnr Pope.
Jnr Pope was so young when he died and doesn’t deserve you putting on red dressing to his burial ceremony.
The burial ceremony calls for a sober reflection and not a celebration party ground.
You could have gone there putting on black or white dressing.
I am disappointed though you are a good guy and I so much love watching your movies.
I know you did this in error and I know you will change next time.
