Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has threatened any employee of the FCT Administration who tries to block the office building’s gate.
Wike promised that individuals who disobey would be punished by the law starting tomorrow.
Speaking to the journalists in his office on Tuesday, Wike threatened to punish employees who don’t show up for work.

He said, “When man disobeys the law, are there no consequences for disobeying the law? Must we allow people flagrantly disobey the law?
“I’m giving them this window because I’m still in the office today, from tomorrow if you don’t come to work, we are going to apply the big stick.
“And from tomorrow if we see anybody who says he wants to block the gate, we will make you a scapegoat. The law must take its place.”

This comes as Wike and the FCTA filed an interlocutory injunction with the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, which is located in Abuja, on Tuesday. The order requires workers under the Joint Union Action Committee to halt their current strike.
However, the disgruntled workers who assembled on Tuesday emphasised that they would just stay at home and declared that they were no longer on strike.

Despite a court decision for them to halt the industrial action, employees of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, or FCTA, refused to resume.
