The voices of several protestors were heard stating, “We will come back; when it clears, we will come back,” in a video that our reporter referenced, indicating the group’s will to return in spite of the disturbance.
According to reports, El-Rufai had earlier arrived at the EFCC premises with hundreds of his supporters, following reports of his attempted arrest at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport last Thursday.

Recall that last Thursday, there was mild drama at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, when security operatives attempted to arrest the former governor as he touched down from Cairo, the capital of Egypt.

El-Rufai would later allege that the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) asked officials of the Department of State Services (DSS) to arrest him upon arrival.
