United States President, Donald Trump, has confirmed Washington’s active participation in coordinated military strikes alongside Israel by announcing that the country has begun “major combat operations” against Iran.

He announced this in a video that was uploaded early on Saturday.

In the eight-minute address shared on Truth Social, Trump declared: “A short time ago, the United States military began major combat operations in Iran.

“Our objective is to defend the American people by eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime, a vicious group of very hard, terrible people.”

Citing cries of “Death to America” and accusations of “bloodshed and mass murder” against American troops, bases, allies, and civilians worldwide, the president charged Tehran with 47 years of ongoing animosity toward the United States.

He described the military strike as defensive and said it was a vital step to neutralise threats posed by Iran’s “menacing activities.”

Israel had already confirmed a “pre-emptive” strike “to remove threats to the State of Israel,” which was followed by the declaration. Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz subsequently declared a nationwide state of emergency.

Geolocated video revealed plumes of dense smoke rising above government districts, including those close to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s headquarters, as explosions were reported throughout central Tehran.

Although official statistics on injuries and damage have not yet been made public, Iranian state media reported numerous missile hits in the Republic area and other sections of the capital.

According to report, Sheba Medical Center in Ramat Gan, Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa, and Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center in Tel Aviv moved patients to reinforced underground facilities, released non-urgent cases, and prepared for possible mass casualties.

Magen David Adom, the national emergency agency, began working more closely with the military and medical authorities.

Amid rumours that Tehran is planning retaliation actions, Iranian airspace was immediately shuttered.

In the face of a strong regional military, US sources told several media outlets that US forces are actively taking part in the combined operation, including air assets and maybe sea-based capabilities.

An Iranian official signalled readiness for a “crushing” response, which could involve missiles, drones, or forces operating across the region.
