The governor made the appeal during a meeting with the Southeast Traditional Rulers Council in Umuahia, where he encouraged monarchs to uphold justice and fairness within their communities.
Alex Otti emphasized the importance of unity across political and traditional divides, noting that true progress is achieved through collective effort.
He further advised traditional rulers to ensure that appointments and key community roles are awarded solely based on merit.

Addressing rumours of discord within the Southeast Governors’ Forum, Governor Alex Otti explained that differences in priorities often reflect the unique realities of each locality.
“Sometimes, people create in their imagination differences that don’t exist.
“We all work together, but what one State requires may differ from another. Comparing Governors is like comparing apples and oranges,” Otti stated.
In his speech, the Chairman of the Abia State Council of traditional rulers, Eze Linus Nto Mbah, thanked Otti for his achievements in the State, including security, infrastructure and welfare of the traditional rulers.
Eze Nto, however, expressed concern over the erosion of cultural values and increasing communal conflicts in communities.
