The Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Citizenship and Leadership, Nasir Bala Aminu, popularly known as Ja’oji, has formally resigned from his position ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to reports, he resigned in response to President Tinubu’s order for all political appointees who wanted to run for public office in 2027 to resign from their jobs by March 31, 2026, at the latest.

Ministers, senior special assistants, special advisors, and other political appointees working in the present administration are all subject to the directive.
In his letter of resignation, Nasir Bala Aminu thanked the president for giving him the chance to serve and described his nomination as a strong indication of the administration’s dedication to young inclusion and leadership development, according to Daily Trust.

He stated that President Tinubu’s faith in young Nigerians’ potential and his goal of enabling them to make significant contributions to the country’s growth were the driving forces behind his appointment to important positions.

Nasir Bala Aminu also reiterated his commitment to the president and promised to support the administration’s objectives going forward. He added that he is still prepared to serve the nation in whatever capacity should the need arise.
