Following its leadership issue, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has been accused by the All Progressives Congress (APC) of spreading conspiracy theories.
Recall that he national chairman of the ADC, David Mark, charged President Bola Tinubu with trying to dismantle Nigeria’s opposition political groups on Thursday.
Mark was responding to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) declaration that, following a review of a court of appeals ruling, it would no longer recognise the ADC divisions commanded by Mark and Nafiu Bala.
Reacting, Felix Morka, the national publicity secretary for the APC, said in a statement released on Thursday that the ADC is responsible for the issues its currently facing.
Morka claimed that the ADC had distinguished itself as a promoter of “rabid conspiracy theories” about alleged attempts by the APC to undermine the party.
“Quite apart from being an assembly of Nigeria’s most confused and desperate politicians, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has distinguished itself as a peddler of rabid conspiracy theories about what the All Progressives Congress (APC) is or is not doing to undermine the party,” the statement reads
Additionally, he described the ADC as a party destined to collapse due to its internal contradictions.

“The ADC is a party that never was. By design, it was a kamikaze contraption with a ‘follow-come’ self-destructive detonator. It had to unravel and now unraveling fast by installment,” he added.
According to Morka, the crisis started when the party’s factional leadership purportedly took over in defiance of the party’s constitution.
Morka said it is irresponsible for the ADC to blame the APC for the crisis within its ranks.
He went on to say that the ADC’s incapacity to oversee its internal affairs demonstrates that it is unable to provide Nigerians with a reliable alternative.
Morka claimed that rather than offering suggestions to Nigerians, the ADC has concentrated more on criticising the APC.
He added that the APC remains focused on good governance under the Tinubu administration.
“Our great Party and the administration of President Bola Tinubu remain steadfast in delivering on the Renewed Hope Agenda, and strengthening democratic institutions for peace, unity and prosperity of all Nigerians,” the statement added.
