Ibrahim made the claim on Monday while speaking as a guest on Prime Time, a programme on Arise Television.

According to him, despite the INEC chairman being relatively new in office, there have already been several indications of bias within a short period.

He further alleged that Amupitan’s actions, particularly his involvement in matters affecting the main opposition party without what he described as a solid legal basis, point to political partiality.

“This suggests we now have a partisan figure carrying out the interests of his principal. He had already shown political bias during the last election and expressed it openly on X,” Ibrahim said.

He added that the chairman’s recent actions, especially those targeting the opposition without widely accepted legal justification, reinforce concerns about his neutrality.
