The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, David Mark, claims that a large number of Nigerians are searching for a credible political alternative ahead of the 2027 general elections.
While speaking, Mark continued by urging members of the party not to disappoint them.
He stated this on Saturday at the National Executive Committee meeting of the ADC in Abuja.
The former Senate President also stressed that the party must position itself as a viable platform capable of addressing the country’s security and economic challenges.
He said, “Many citizens are increasingly searching for a credible political platform. The ADC must not fail them.”

David Mark further decried the worsening security crisis in parts of the country, saying insecurity continues to threaten lives, livelihoods and economic activities.
He said, “Nigeria today faces profound challenges. Insecurity continues to threaten lives and livelihoods across many parts of our country. Communities are displaced, farmers are unable to cultivate their lands freely, businesses struggle under difficult economic conditions, and millions of families face hardship and uncertainty.”
Mark also expressed concern over rising living costs, unemployment and declining purchasing power, saying the issues require urgent attention.
The former senate president called on all levels of government to step up their efforts to combat insecurity and enhance public wellbeing.
He also urged unity inside the ADC, emphasising that the party’s ability to resolve internal conflicts and prioritise group goals above individual aspirations will determine its success.
Complaints from primaries
The ADC chairman acknowledged objections stemming from the party’s recent primaries in a few states and constituencies, but assured members that leadership will handle all concerns in accordance with the party’s constitution.
According to David Mark, the National Working Committee would review recommendations submitted by appeal committees before making decisions.

“Our objective is clear. We must present candidates who are not only committed to the ideals of the ADC but who also possess the capacity, credibility and electoral strength to win elections and effectively serve the Nigerian people.”
