Speaking at the swearing-in and opening ceremony of the 2026 Batch A, Stream II orientation course held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Ede, the governor reminded corps members of the non-partisan nature of the scheme.

He advised them to uphold discipline, responsibility, and respect for constituted authority throughout their service year, especially as the state moves closer to a major electoral process.

Adeleke assured the corps members that Osun remains peaceful, welcoming, and culturally rich, encouraging them to integrate with their host communities, respect local traditions, and actively contribute to community development.

He also emphasized that his administration has prioritised their safety, noting that security agencies have been mobilised to ensure a secure and conducive environment for their stay. He further encouraged vigilance and strict adherence to NYSC safety guidelines.

The Osun governor described the service year as an important opportunity for national development, urging the corps members to embody values such as patriotism, integrity, discipline, and selfless service in their daily conduct.

In a related address, the NYSC State Coordinator for Osun, Ekeng Ita Kubiangha, also cautioned corps members to remain neutral and professional, particularly in view of the upcoming election.

He warned them against involvement in partisan politics or any activity that could compromise the credibility of the electoral process or endanger their safety.

Kubiangha disclosed that about 2,600 corps members—comprising 1,200 males and 1,400 females—were deployed to the state for the service year.

He explained that the delay in the orientation camp opening was due to renovation works, which slightly altered the schedule compared to other states.

He also commended the state government and stakeholders for their continued support of the NYSC programme, while urging corps members to remain security conscious, obey camp rules, and maintain constant communication with NYSC authorities.
