Samuel Mawuyon Ajose, a governorship aspirant in Lagos State ahead of the 2027 elections, has denied claims that he endorsed Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat as the consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a formal disclaimer, Ajose dismissed a widely circulated press release making the allegation, describing it as false, unauthorised, and misleading.
He clarified that he neither issued nor approved any statement supporting Hamzat’s alleged endorsement by the party’s Governance Advisory Council (GAC), adding that he was not involved in any such decision-making process.
According to him, the document being circulated did not originate from his campaign or any authorised representative, and he strongly condemned it as a deliberate attempt to misrepresent his political position.

Ajose further urged the public, especially his supporters and residents of Lagos, to ignore the publication, warning that it was intended to distort public perception and manipulate political narratives.
He also issued a warning to media outlets that shared the statement, demanding an immediate retraction and removal within 12 hours.
He cautioned that failure to comply would lead to legal action, including claims of defamation and damage to his political reputation, insisting that the publication was malicious and potentially criminal in nature.
