ThePeoples Democratic Party in Ebonyi State has officially zoned its 2027 governorship ticket to the Ebonyi North Senatorial District in a move aimed at promoting equity, fairness, and justice within the party.
The decision was announced in a communiqué issued after the PDP’s State Executive Committee meeting in Abakaliki by the state chairman, Onyemaechi Nwele, and secretary, Zaccheaus Ogbuefi.
According to the communiqué, the committee also directed zonal leaders to ensure the fair distribution of State Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate seats across the zones, reflecting the wishes of the people and preventing internal crises ahead of the 2027 elections.

PDP urged all aspirants to respect the zoning arrangement and avoid actions or statements capable of disrupting peace and unity at the grassroots level.
The PDP committee further approved the sale of interest and nomination forms to aspirants, assuring members of a transparent and seamless primary process in line with the party constitution and the Electoral Act 2026.
In addition, the state chapter reaffirmed its confidence in the PDP’s Interim National Working Committee led by Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, the Board of Trustees chaired by Adolphus Wabara, and the PDP Governors’ Forum headed by Seyi Makinde.
