LG Chairmen Are Powerful Keys to Grassroots Development in Taraba – Bawa Declares in Positive Governance Push

The Taraba State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abubakar Bawa, has stressed the importance of local government chairmen in the effective delivery of government policies at the grassroots level.

Bawa made the statement on Wednesday in Jalingo during a strategic meeting with chairmen of the 16 local government areas in Taraba state.

The meeting, according to reports, was convened to strengthen party coordination and improve collaboration in governance across Taraba State.

He noted that local government chairmen, as the closest tier of government to the people, play a vital role in driving development and ensuring the implementation of state government programmes within their respective councils.

Bawa urged the council chairmen to actively support party activities at the ward level and maintain strong cooperation with party structures across their local government areas.

He also called for unity and dedication among party stakeholders to promote effective governance and sustained political stability in the state.

In response, the Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Taraba State and Chairman of Kurmi Local Government Area, Moses Maihankali, praised the APC leadership for its inclusive governance style and for involving local government officials in decision-making processes.

Maihankali assured the party leadership of the council chairmen’s loyalty, cooperation, and full support for both the state government and the APC in driving development across the state.
