The Taraba State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied reports alleging that Governor Agbu Kefas has endorsed all serving members of the National Assembly and the Taraba State House of Assembly for automatic tickets ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party described the claims as misleading and inaccurate, stressing that no final decision has been reached on the selection of candidates for elective positions.
Speaking on the issue, the APC Publicity Secretary in the state, Aaron Artimas, clarified that the process of choosing consensus candidates is still ongoing, in line with the party’s internal democratic guidelines.

He explained that Governor Kefas set up three consensus committees across the state’s senatorial districts to engage stakeholders and promote consultations aimed at ensuring a transparent and peaceful selection process ahead of the elections.
According to him, the committees were established to harmonize interests and strengthen unity within the party, adding that their recommendations have not yet been concluded or adopted by the APC party leadership.
Artimas urged party members and the general public to ignore rumours suggesting that automatic tickets or endorsements have already been issued to sitting lawmakers.
