Supporters of the former New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate, Rabi’u Kwankwaso, under the Kwankwasiyya Movement, have strongly criticized the National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, over his recent comments.
Baba-Ahmed had alleged that both Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, and Kwankwaso were unable to join the PRP ahead of the 2027 elections because they demanded presidential tickets, which the party allegedly declined to grant.
However, reacting to the claim, the spokesperson of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Habeeb Saleh Mohammed, dismissed the allegation, describing it as an attempt to attract public attention.

He stated that, to his knowledge, there was no formal engagement in which either Kwankwaso or Peter Obi requested a presidential ticket from the PRP.
Mohammed further argued that it was actually the PRP, through its national chairman, that publicly appealed for both politicians and members of a broader coalition to join the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
