Hon. Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has called for the full protection of his father’s constitutional rights.
Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, who represents Kaduna North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, made the demand in a statement shared on his verified Facebook page. He said the family had witnessed what he described as two serious violations of his father’s fundamental rights.
According to him, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai’s personal doctor visited the ICPC headquarters around 3 p.m. to discuss the outcome of recent medical tests, but officials allegedly denied the doctor access, insisting that written approval from the ICPC Chairman was required.

He argued that the action violated an existing court order granting his father unrestricted access to medical care.
The lawmaker further claimed that his stepmother, Aunty Aichatou, was also denied access when she attempted to deliver his father’s evening meal around 7 p.m. ICPC officials reportedly told her that food deliveries were not allowed after 6:30 p.m.
Mohammed Bello El-Rufai described the actions as arbitrary and a direct violation of his father’s constitutional and human rights.
He maintained that no lawful detention should prevent access to medical attention or basic family care based on what he termed “arbitrary restrictions.”
Mohammed Bello El-Rufai added that the family would no longer tolerate what it sees as intimidation disguised as official procedure, insisting that the ICPC must operate within the law it is mandated to enforce.
